Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Chautari. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Chautari mobile application and website at https://chautari.online (together, the "Service"), operated by Chautari ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, signing in, posting content, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your country of residence, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you must be at least 16 years old.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your password secure and not sharing your account with anyone.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Providing an accurate email address so we can contact you about your account.

You may delete your account at any time from the app: Settings → Delete Account. When you delete your account, your sessions are revoked immediately, your personal data (email, avatar, bio) is anonymized, and your posts and comments remain but are attributed to "Deleted User". See our Privacy Policy for details.

3. Your Content

"User Content" means anything you post, upload, or otherwise submit to the Service — including posts, articles, images, comments, reactions, hashtags, and profile information.

You own your User Content. We do not claim ownership. However, by posting User Content to the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to host, store, display, reproduce, modify (for purposes such as resizing, moderation, format conversion), and distribute your User Content, solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except to the extent copies have already been shared with other users or are required for our legal or audit obligations.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have all necessary rights to the User Content you submit.
• Your User Content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
• Your User Content does not violate these Terms or any applicable law.

4. Prohibited Content and Conduct

You agree NOT to post, upload, or otherwise transmit any User Content that:

• Is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, or deceptive.
• Is obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or depicts nudity.
• Depicts or promotes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — reports are forwarded to authorities.
• Promotes or incites violence, terrorism, self-harm, or suicide.
• Constitutes hate speech, harassment, bullying, or threatens any person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or medical condition.
• Impersonates any person, company, or organization.
• Infringes the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or publicity rights of others.
• Contains spam, unsolicited advertising, scams, or malware.
• Contains personal data of others (e.g. doxxing) without consent.
• Promotes illegal goods, illegal services, or illegal activity.

You also agree NOT to:

• Abuse, harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other users.
• Create multiple accounts to evade bans, blocks, or reports.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) against the Service without our written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, to other users' accounts, or to our infrastructure.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including sending excessive traffic.
• Use the Service to commit or facilitate any crime.

5. Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content and Abusive Users

We operate a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and for users who engage in abusive behavior. We commit to reviewing reports and acting on violations — including removing content and ejecting offending users — within 24 hours of receiving a valid report.

Tools available to you in the Service:

• Report — flag any post, article, or comment from its detail screen. Choose a reason (spam, abuse, nudity, hate, illegal, copyright, or other).
• Block — block any user from a post, article, or comment. Blocked users' content is hidden from you in both directions; your content is hidden from them. Blocking also removes any follow relationship.
• Account deletion — end all use of the Service at any time from Settings.

When a piece of content receives three or more independent reports, it is automatically hidden from the public feed pending review. We may also remove content, warn, suspend, or permanently ban users at our discretion for violations of these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property — The Service

The Service itself — including the Chautari name, logo, design, software, and compilation of User Content — is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or reverse engineer our software except as expressly permitted by law.

7. Copyright (DMCA-style) Takedown

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please email bhupex@gmail.com with:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
• A link to the infringing content on the Service.
• Your contact information.
• A statement, made in good faith, that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

We will review and act on valid notices promptly.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if we believe you have violated these Terms, applicable law, or if your account is inactive or abandoned. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (for example, content licenses already granted, disclaimers, liability limits) will continue to apply.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT USER CONTENT ON THE SERVICE IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) JPY 1,000.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your User Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services we do not control. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites. Your use of any third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that site's terms and privacy policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify you through the Service or by email to the address on your account, and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Tokyo, Japan.
